The kids are coming!

Lilly should be having her kid or kids soon! Monday she started acting different. Yesterday, she barely touched her grain! Lilly normally eats her grain right away! She has been laying around in her shed not wanting to come out and uninterested in her food. We called the vet today and they said this is normal for goats to act like this. She is saving her energy for birth. Goats usually do this 24 to 72 hours before birth! So, that means babies will be here soon!

Our visit with Heather!

My sister Heather came over Friday night and left Monday morning. My sister Courtney and my niece Kaylee went back with her to visit Chicago. They are coming back Thursday. We got to see Duddits and Buster, which are Heather's dogs! I gave Duddits a haircut and taught Buster to sit, lay down, and walk on a leash the correct way! We also had a wiener roast (not the wiener dogs!).

This is Buster! He is 2 years old. Heather got him from a dog rescue that only gives the dogs 3 days to get a home. She is fostering him right now to make sure she wants him. If not, he will go to another good home. His owners didn't take care of him very well. He is super skinny because he had worms and wasn't fed right! He is now being well fed and taken care of by Heather.

Buster came with the name Midnight. He got renamed Buster!

I think the sun was in his eyes! Haha!

Ducks Following Me!

Lately my duck Splash, has been following me around our yard every day!! It's very funny! Normally my ducks never leave each other! When I am outside he pays no attention to Rosie! Yesterday, Splash let me pet him and pick him up without me trying to catch him! Today, My dad, mom. and I went for a bike ride down the road by our house. When we rode by our driveway for our second ride down the road, I noticed the ducks walking down our driveway looking for me!! They did the same thing the third time we came by! So, I locked Rosie and Splash in their pen so they wouldn't get in the road looking for me!

This is a video I took recently of my male duck Splash following me!

Happy 4th of July! 2013

For the 4th of July, I walked Lucy in the parade. Then, I played my violin in between the pageants. After that, my brother and his family came over for a barbecue , swimming, and then we watched the fireworks in the park! When we got home, my dad, mom, and I lit some sparklers!

I wish I had more pictures!

I painted my own 4th of July shirt! On the left side of my shirt I painted Buddy, Lilly, Tilly, Rosie, and Splash!

I painted my toes for the 4th of July!

I managed to get one hand painted! I'm not very good at painting with my left hand! Haha!

On our way home from the parade in the truck with Lucy.

This is what Lucy looked like in the parade!

I made a flag with fruit kabobs!

Me and the fruit flag I made! It was delicious!

After we watched the fireworks, my mom, dad, and I lit some sparklers!

Baby sparrow.

The Chipping Sparrow nest in our yard I posted a long time ago is now empty. At first the nest started with 3 tiny eggs. Only one egg ever hatched. I checked the nest daily and watched the baby bird grow. One day the baby bird was not in the nest! I found him hiding in the grass. I picked him up and put him back in the nest. I came back and he was gone again! So, my dad took the 2 eggs that didn't hatch out, and I put the baby bird back in the nest. He jumped out again! So, I finally left him alone. I don't think he made it, because he was still young and very weak.

When I picked him up he would fall asleep right away.

 Lilly and Tilly relaxing.

I was getting ready to put the goats up for the night. I forgot to lock Buddy's pen! I was putting Lilly and Tilly up and I saw Buddy walking around the yard happily eating leaves!

Rosie and Splash enjoying the goats being loose in the yard! (The ducks like the goats!)

Cuddles and I at the 4-H fair! June 26th 3013

Cuddles and I went to the 4-H dog show at the Griggsville fair, June 26th. I groomed Cuddles the night before the fair. She was really good until my Dad and I tried to trim her nails! We got 3 feet done! And lots of scratches on my arms! Next time she is going to the groomers!

Cuddles and I got 3 blue ribbons and a Grand Champion ribbon! The blue ribbons are just what you get if you don't win anything. At the end of the show a girl named Billy gave me her Grand Champion ribbon! Now I can show Cuddles at the State Fair in August! I don't think we will be going though. :( We would be competing with people in 4-H from all over the states! Maybe someday we will go!

Cuddles and I waiting for our turn to show.

We also were in the newspaper!
It says (Rachelle DeCamp of Rockport will be going to the state fair showmanship class with her dog, Cuddles.)
